Situated on 42 acres of private property within the National Park, Hawke Brook Chalets is a working farm featuring Avocado and Kiwi Fruit orchards as well as 4 charming cedar chalets, fully self contained accommodation. Hawke Brook Chalets are RAC 4 Star Rated and fully accredited by Tourism Council of WA. Modern decor with large picture windows throughout and a balcony deck with magnificent views to the natural spring fed lake. Tastefully decorated with comfy queen sized and bunk beds perfect for couples and families alike. Each chalet has a kitchen with a full sized stove with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and crockery and cuttlery. Polished jarrah floors throughout with cosy rugs, dining table, lounge and flatscreen TV and DVD player. There is a complimentary guest library with books, games and a selection of DVD's to suit all ages. Enjoy our blue walk nature trail which follows the old kangaroo trails though the forest to the Warren River. The loop trail on our property is marked with blue arrows and takes you through some old growth karri forest, over the dam walls and past the kiwi fruit vines. It takes aprox 40 minutes and ends back at the chalets. Explore our cottage herb garden. Herbs are there for you to pick and include basil, oregano, fennel, mint, thyme & parsley. There are also apple, lemon, plum, almond and mandarin trees and you are welcome to pick whatever is in season. We also have 200 nashi pear trees, 1000 avocado trees and 2500 kiwi fruit vines on the property. As you can imagine all that fruit attracts a mirriad of bird life. Pixie Park Playground is for the young and young at heart. In a private corner under some pine trees is a child sized blue gate. If you venture through you will find a kitchen with a stove and sink for that teddy bear picnik. A sand patch, log car and tyre swings complete the adventure. The playground is located behind the reception and can be seen from the balcony of chalet 1. The chalets are set in a large grassy area so for children this is like living in a park. Most are happy just to be playing outside so gum boots are a great thing to pack if you are travelling with little ones. Animals on our farmstay - Our 5 resident chocolate labradors love people and will guide you on a walk or play for hours with children. They each have different personalities and are very well behaved. Bowie, Boston, Jaffa, Jamaica and our latest edition Indiana. We also have guinea fowl to keep our orchards insect free, geese and ducks as well as free ranging chickens. It is not unusual to see local wildlife of kangaroos and emus as well as many species of birds. Hawke Brook Chalets is a great base for touring the southwest.
